Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated or cheered at this year's race. The adult competitors and our little superheroes made this our best year to date. Congratulations to Kevin Fletcher and Sarah Fletcher on their overall wins!
The full results are posted on Tri State Racer. A great review of the event was written in Sunday's Gazette.
Write to us with any comments, questions, or suggestions you might have concerning the event.
A huge thanks to all of our sponsors: Star Federal Credit Union, Triana, Kroger, Suttle and Stalnaker, John's Cylcery, The City of Charleston, Hammer Nutrition. You are the reason we are able to hold and grow this event each year. Thank you!

One Month to Go!

We are less than one month from the 2014 Capital City Challenge. There are many things we are excited about with this year's edition. The kids' superhero fun run promises to be hugely entertaining; many thanks to Suttle and Stalnaker for their help in sponsoring that event. It is the fifth year of this race and we are anticipating the largest turnout since the event's inception. Look out for more announcements in the coming weeks concerning: rules & procedures and packet pick-up.
Get excited for the Challenge by reliving moments from last year's event in the video posted below.

Registration Fees Support Charity

Here is a reminder that all racer registration fees go directly to support The Counseling Connection, a non-profit organization that provides counseling services in the Kanawha Valley and across West Virginia. Their counseling services cover problems related to: abuse, ADHD, anxiety, depression, family and marital problems, substance abuse, and trauma. Please visit their website for more information on this vital community service.
Our financial sponsors cover the cost of operating The Capital City Challenge. They make it possible for your dollars to go straight to The Counseling Connection. For 2014 our sponsors are: Suttle & Stalnaker; AnyTime Fitness; Kroger; Star USA Federal Credit Union; Triana Energy; Blackwell & Co.; The City of Charleston; and John's Cyclery. You can click on the "Sponsors" tab and visit their websites to learn more about our supporters. We want to thank them for enabling us to produce this race and keep your money going to our beneficiary.

Summer Pricing

Today, June 30th, is the last day to register at $35 per person and $30 per team member. On July 1st prices go up $10/person.
The summer racing season is in full swing. Wear your cool Capital City Challenge shirts around town while training and doing other races. We will give you a wave, and generally think that you are an awesome person.
Remember our first ever kids' fun run too. Kids get to wear a cape and follow their favorite super hero in full costume leading the way. It should be a great time for all ages, and we are really excited about it.

Spring/Summer Pricing

We are in the second round of pricing for the 2014 Capital City Challenge. Registration is $35/individual and $30/team member through June 30. While you are preparing for Spring and Summer events make sure to get your early discounts for the Challenge. For those intimidated by the full triathlon, now is a good time to find team members so you can tackle the Challenge with a friend or two. It is also a good time to line up a kayak and a bike for individual participants. Beyond the equipment all you need is to get in shape. Now is a good time for that too!
